An Au Pair provides childcare to a family in exchange for lodging and monetary compensation. Household duties vary, but they should be treated as if part of the family.
An Au Pair Plus works longer hours and receives more monetary compensation than a “regular” au pair. As with an au pair, main responsibilities would be helping with the children in the home.
Mother’s Helpers do just that. Help out mum! Assisting the family as a whole, she/he may have limited experience but will assist with childcare, babysitting, and general housekeeping duties.
A Nanny will generally have strong credentials in child development and will be trained in child care. They consider their job a career. The sole responsibility of a nanny is usually the children.
Housekeepers are responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of the interior of a residence. Duties may include cleaning, laundry/ironing, cooking, and shopping.
Elderly Carers administer the special needs and requirements that are unique to senior citizens. Assistance with daily activities and health care would be typical of an elderly carer.
