The payment can depend upon the level of responsibility given to the au pair. Other possible benefits are a bonus at the end of the promised stay or a return fare home, once, during the au pair’s stay.
- Au pair £200.00 for 25 hours a week 2 nights babysitting.
- Au pair plus £275-£300 a week for 35 hours a week 2/3 nights babysitting.
- Mothers Help £300-£400 42 hours a week ¾ nights babysitting.
- Housekeeper £550-£650 a week 50 hours a week. Babysitting as needed.
- Companion £550-£700 plus a week, live in.
It is recognised that these are only guidelines and that the situation differs from family to family.
